Uchechi Divine
Product Designer & Design Engineer
I am driven by curiosity and strive for a high level of craftsmanship in my work.
I build 0→1 products and shape where they go. A digital bank from zero to launch, B2B trade platforms across emerging markets, and lately the code as well as the design.

I joined RedCloud’s design team as the marketplace was being rethought. My first year ran on two tracks: improving the live Red101 platform, where retailers order stock directly from distributors, while designing its next generation from scratch. Since then the work has widened: the notification system, the design library, and now the Red AI console, where I design and build in code.
Highlights
- Red101, on two tracks: With two other designers, I improved the live platform that was driving real transaction growth, while designing its next generation end to end, information architecture, onboarding, payments and wallets, cards, search, settings, and product detail pages, across mobile and responsive web. 20+ high-fidelity flows shipped; the new version was parked before launch, and it’s a year of work I stand behind.
- Grounded in the field: Interviews with 15+ retailers in Lagos, plus a weekly experience review with PMs and marketing across four markets, keeping the company aligned on what design was building.
- Automated Notification System: Mapped every scenario across RedCloud where a notification fires, start to finish, with a PM. The map became the system’s blueprint.
- Design library: One design language for RedCloud’s AI era, 9 components, 40+ variants, 109 tokens, adopted across the org.
- Red AI console: Currently designing and building the distributor console in code, on the design system’s tokens: catalogue, orders, inventory, and TradeX listings where retailers negotiate offers, plus the intelligence layer that answers questions like “how many goods did I sell yesterday?”
Sole product designer across the Stellas ecosystem for two years, a digital bank born in Lagos and expanded to the UK, built around helping immigrants send, receive, and manage money across borders. I led design and creative direction on three products: the consumer bank, Stellas Business Bank, and Interstellas.
Highlights
- Consumer bank, 0 → launch: Took it from first concept to launch, end to end through research, testing, and biweekly sprints.
- The rest of the product family: Stellas Business Bank and Interstellas, the payment-collection platform, designed single-handedly.
- The back office nobody shows: The internal platforms behind all three, the tools the bank’s own teams ran onboarding, operations, and support on. The side of a bank nobody puts in portfolios, designed by the same one person.
- A one-designer handoff machine: Stellas Global Components and Tokens, a style guide, annotated wireframes, and regular design–dev syncs, enough for one designer to feed a whole dev team.
- Brand alongside the products: Identity, websites, and the creative direction that made six surfaces feel like one bank.
Solo design contract, working remotely from the UK with a team in Chicago, on a B2B advertising platform that automates audience suppression: connecting ad platforms like Google, Facebook, and Amazon Ads so businesses stop paying to advertise to people who’ve already bought.
Highlights
- Learned the domain fast: From zero advertising knowledge to designing the integration, suppression rules, and cross-platform audience management, end to end.
- Brand + product, together: The WasteNot logo, colours, marketing site, and the full product UI.
- Handed off clean: Left the engineering team a style guide and annotated designs for implementation.
The contract ended at handoff, so the numbers that came after belong to them.
Equity is one of East Africa’s largest banks, ranked by Brand Finance among the world’s strongest banking brands, and its Corporate Internet Banking platform is where 9M+ customers’ businesses do their day-to-day banking.
I was chosen as one of five designers on the CIB rebuild, working remotely with the Nairobi team. The brief came with a constraint: everything new had to be built from Equity’s existing components, so the rebuild stayed seamless with the rest of the bank’s ecosystem.
Highlights
- The daily-driver modules: Owned the high-fidelity design for what businesses run every day, Pay Bills, Buy Goods, Buy Airtime, Statements, Loans, and FX deal-rate negotiation.
- Discipline inside constraints: Designed entirely within Equity’s existing component system, keeping new work consistent with the wider banking platform, discipline inside constraints, not a blank canvas.
- End-to-end, remotely: Ran the full process with the Nairobi team, user research, competitive analysis, wireframes, and prototypes.
